Reconnect Coaching works to ensure working mothers’ gain the focused support to leverage their full capability to benefit the mother, her family, her manager and the organisation.
It was during Jayne Chater’s first pregnancy over 13 years ago that she started to understand the many challenges that come from exiting and re-entering the workforce after having children.
Through talking with other mothers she identified issues arising from a lack of support for working mothers and the very real concerns they had planning their parental leave, their return, adjusting to a new way of being, and working out how to manage themselves, their family and their work.
This led to a new focus for Jayne. In 2007, she initiated a research project involving over 200 women who were transitioning back into the workforce to find out the key areas that impacted on their exit and re-entry. Altris shared the findings with many of New Zealand’s top organisations. These research findings helped underpin the approach to the Reconnect Coaching programme.
